2025 ADEBORUWA CUP: Ayegbami, Adegbose FCs Claim Victory Over Offin Ile, Oreta

The colourful array of communities, areas and football clubs participating in the ongoing Adeboruwa Cup resumed hostilities at the United African Methodist Church (Eleja), Primary School, Igbogbo Ikorodu, at the weekend.

Two matches – game 45th and 46th were played on Saturday.

In the first match which was the 54th game of the 2025 edition of the tournament which is part of the annual Igbogbo Day Celebration, Ayegbami defeated Offin Ile 1 v Offin Ile 0, while Adegbose also beat Oreta by a lone goal.

The lone goal in the first match was scored by Ayegbami FC’s striker, Damola Oluwa, at the 53rd minute. He was adjudged as the Most Valuable Player of the match.

Promise Bernard, Adegbose FC No.10 jersey player scored in the 33rd minute of the second match to give his team the maximum 3 points.

Just like the scorer in the first match of the day, Promise too was awarded the Most Valuable Player award.

Oluwatimileyi Omoshola, Ayegabmi FC captain expressed his satisfaction after the match.

“I feel so happy and great. I’m really proud of the way we played as a team. We give glory to God for giving us the opportunity to win today and move forward to the next round.

He said that his team is ready to win next matches and play in the final of the tournament this year.

“We’re confident and ready. We’re going all the way to the final!”
